Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty announced on Tuesday that as part of initiative to manager taxpayers’ dollars he is proposing to tie Hospital CEOs compensation to performance. There were 14 Hospital CEOs who made more than $500,000 last year. The proposed legislation would base their compensation on how effectively the hospital reduces infection rates and other performance factors.

I came across a post by Paul Levy who is the President and CEO of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Mr. Levy writes his own blog about running a hospital. In his latest post he asks if his million dollar compensation package is justified. It is an old post. I wonder if Mr. Levy would be so eager to post his compensation in today’s climate.
